Christmas :)

Christmas is only 2 days away! I love this time of the year :) The few weeks from Thanksgiving to Christmas are by far my favorite. I just love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I love drinking peppermint white chocolate mochas from Starbucks, listening to Christmas music, wrapping gifts, baking, and anything else remotely related to Christmas!

Jonathan and I are celebrating our very first Christmas as a married couple this year! It's a pretty exciting time :) We are starting traditions that could last for decades! 3 weeks ago we went to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our first tree :) It's quite a perfect little tree, if I don't say so myself.

And quite a good looking husband too!

Then last weekend we got 14 inches of snow! I haven't loaded the pictures from our camera onto the computer yet, but when I do I will post some. It was just gorgeous! My poor husband had to end up parking about a mile from home and walking because the roads were closed. Insane! But once he made it there we hunkered down for a couple days and just enjoyed ourselves. I love snow :) Until it gets all black and ugly (like it is now) then it can go away :)

Tomorrow we're heading to Va Beach to see the family :) I can't wait! Then Saturday we're heading to see Jonathan's parents in Patrick County. It'll be a busy couple of days but I'm excited! Merry Christmas, and don't forget the Reason for the Season :)

Fall Fun!

So yesterday I was talking about giving our little casa a boost of fall spirit, and last night I did just that! We had to make a little Wal Mart trip for a baby shower gift, and I stumbled across the cutest little fall deocrations that I couldn't resist. Check out our new centerpiece on the kitchen table:

Those little leaves are salt and pepper shakers! Only $2.00! Can you believe it?!?

And here's a close up of our new napkins...love the plaid.

And last but not least, a full view of our kitchen table...all for only $9.00! I never would have thought if was possible :) We had a pretty good amount of the decor already, we just got the napkins, fake fruit, and salt and pepper shakers to liven it up a bit!

I love it :) Everytime I go into the kitchen I just stop and stare at the masterpiece that is our table!
I also put a little fall decor on our media console in the living room. We already had everything, I just kind of rearraged it. The picture is a little dark, but you can get the idea:

Just two little baskets with mini apples, a glass platter, and an orange candle...all free because we already owned it all :)
I love Fall...and decorating our little casa.

October :)

It's been months since I've made a post...so I thought I'd pick it up again :)

I looooove October! It's my favorite month of the year for sure. I love to see the leaves changing colors, the beginning of fall weather, college football, pumpkins, scarecrows, everything! I just love it! Not to mention Jonathan proposed in October :) Another reason to love it!

I've been doing a few things around the house to get into the fall spirit too. I got a cute little fall wreath for the door and changed up our table centerpiece. I'm looking to get a couple more things too, to hopefully get us in the Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving spirit. Once I do, I'll post some pictures of my ideas :) Mostly stolen from www.younghouselove.com - my most favorite blog in the world.

Besides the beginning of Fall and the wonderful things that come along with that, Jonathan and I are also hoping to have a new addition to our little family this month :) A puppy! We are so excited for the addition of a little furbaby into our house! We are getting the same type of dog that my Nana and my parents have - a Shih-Tzu. Last weekend I held one at the pet store and was just smitten! So we talked with the man who sold my grandma and parents their puppies, and he will be coming this way hopefully within the next couple of weeks to get a couple puppies, and he'll stop by Christiansburg and let us pick one out! Oh I just can't wait! Puppies are adorable - alot of work from what we hear, but I think we're up for the challenge :) I'm sure having a puppy around will lead to many posts of cute little puppy pictures and the crazy things I am sure he is going to do! I'm more than excited :) :)

Until next time...

The joys of marriage :)

Jonathan and I have been married for just over 3 weeks now...and let me tell you, it has been a busy 3 weeks! I haven't hardly had time to breathe, let alone post a blog, so I figured I'd update.

The honeymoon was amazing :) I'm planning to upload some pics tonight or tomorrow. We spent half the week in Savannah, GA and half the week in Hilton Head. The weather was fantastic! We did lots and lots of fun and exciting things...bus tours, Paula Deen restaurant (AMAZING), ghost tour, putt-putt, beach relaxing, and oh so much more! Look for pictures soon :)

After the honeymoon we went back to the "real world" of working everyday. It was weird to go from seeing each other 24/7 during the honeymoon to seeing each other like 5 waking hours a day. But, we are getting used to it. Last week work was insane, and I worked approximately 60 hours...we're hoping that doesn't happen again! Two nights until 2am just doesn't agree with my need to sleep!

Now we are busy packing and organizing to make the move! We close on the house this Friday morning! Pray that there will be no issues when we do the walk through and everything will go smoothly. We are so excited! We've picked out all the paint colors for the house, and have a plan to paint before we move anything in. So we probably won't move any furniture into the house until next Monday or so. But we are SUPER excited to have a house to call our own!

I trust and pray everyone is doing well! I'll post pics soon!

3 days...WHAT?!?

So now we are down the 3 days until the wedding :) I am so excited I can't contain myself! It's ridiculous! I am working today, then off the rest of the week. We'll see much concentrating I can do today at work...I'm betting on not too much! My parents and maid of honor (aka my amazing sister) are coming tonight, and I'm so so excited to see them! I know my mom is also pretty wound up (from what I have heard from inside sources :)) so I'm sure the two of us together will be a sight to see. I am just so ready to get this show on the road...the waiting is killing me!

We are going to decorate the church tomorrow :) I'm so excited! AHHH! In 3 days I'll be married...how crazy is that?!? Then we'll be headed off for the honeymoon :) We have lots of things planned for Savannah, GA and Hilton Head, SC. It should be a fabulous week too, by the looks of the weather!

Well I should get back to trying to concentrate here at work. We'll see how long that lasts! 3 days! AHHH!

10 days... :)

Well we are getting to the home stretch before the wedding! We will be in the single digit countdown starting tomorrow! I'm so excited! Of course there are still a few things to do, but luckily, with lots of help from my mom, pretty much everything is done. I am off work this Friday, and plan to get a few last minute things done, and then start packing for the honeymoon! Yay! I can't believe 10 days from now I'll be sitting in the salon getting my hair done for the wedding...and let's be honest, I'll probably be freaking out. As crazy as it sounds I haven't gotten nervous or anxious over the whole getting married thing. It all just seems so natural, and I know God made Jonathan and I for each other. But the day of could be a little bit of a different story. I'm sure my nerves will be a mess!

Other than the wedding, things are pretty uneventful - although the wedding does take up quite a bit of my waking hours when I'm not working. We had the inspection done on our new house last Friday, and everything looks great! We're way excited to get in there and start painting and making the house a little more colorful :) We close on May 15th, so not too long after the wedding! It will be a busy couple of weeks, but I know once things "settle down" it will be nice.

Well I should get back to working :) I hope everyone enjoys their day!

We're Buying A House!

Jonathan and I signed the papers to put a contract on our first house tonight! We're so excited and blessed beyond belief! We've been praying since we put an offer on it last Wednesday morning, that God's will would be done, and we found out today that the seller accepted! We're planning on closing in the middle of May, only a month after the wedding :) So so so many exciting things to look forward to!

Here are some pictures of the house :)

Less than a month now :)

Well we are getting into the final weeks before the wedding! It's a little crazy to think in less than a month I'll be a married woman :) I'm counting down the days though, and I can't wait for Jonathan to be my husband!

I've realized in the past couple of weeks how much less stressed I am about the whole thing. At first I was a basket case, always trying to over analyze (it's what I do the best :)). But now, with about 4 weeks to go, I'm feeling very calm. I think one reason is all of the big details are done, and now it's down to small things that no one will even notice if I don't get to them. I'm so excited for everything! I've spent so much time, along with a couple of my bridesmaids and my mom, making sure everything is just right. The favors, the programs, the decorations, the food, the cake, the flowers, the dress! Oh I just can't wait! I know that it has been a TON of hard work, but it will all pay off here in 30 days :)

So now I'm playing the waiting game for RSVPs. I absolutely LOVE going home to check the mail every day to see how many I've gotten. Most days it's about 5-6 cards, but one day this week there were 10! Bad news is I'm terribly impatient, so waiting for another week for the rest of the RSVPs to trickle in is going to drive me insane!

30 days and counting...I can't wait to be Mrs. Coleman :)

Ready for Spring!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm a little tired of the teasing. Last weekend it was sunny and 75, and now it's sptting snow and in the 40s! WHY?!? I'm so ready for sunshine, green grass, wildflowers, and springtime! How much longer will we have to put up with this crazy weather? Officially it should be spring next week, and hopefully the weather will start to feel that way soon!

Just thought I'd share my discontent. I want spring!

Getting Closer...

Well we are only 39 days away from being a married couple now :) My how the time has flown! Jonathan and I have been dating a year and a half today. I must admit, these have been the most amazing 18 months of my life :) Jonathan is so good to me, even when I don't really deserve it. I know I can be a pain sometimes (can't we all?) but he puts up with me and smiles while doing it. I'm so excited to begin our married lives together here in less than 6 weeks! I really believe God has great things in store for us in the future.

This past weekend we had our second of three couples showers. It was wonderful :) This shower was thrown by Jonathan's mom's church in Stuart. Yet again we were blessed with so many wonderful gifts! The people were just so gracious, and the shower was beautiful! I honestly don't know what we did to deserve all of this, but we are both so very thankful.

After the last shower, Jonathan and I just stacked the gifts in the middle of the living room of my apartment. Not good for someone who hates clutter! Everytime I walked in the door I would about have an anxiety attack! But on Sunday we went through every single box and displayed everything on the kitchen table. The good thing about that is now it's out of the middle of the floor and all very neat looking. The bad thing...we can't eat at the kitchen table for 6 weeks :) Haha! Oh well, at least I have my sanity back!

Here are some pictures from the shower :)

Snow!!!

This morning I woke up to approximately 10 inches of snow! It was absolutely beautiful! Of course, since I am now an "adult" I didn't get a snow day like all the students, but it was still gorgeous. If it hadn't been for Jonathan, I definitely wouldn't have made it to work this morning in the first place. My apartment sits at the top of a pretty tall hill, which of course, didn't get plowed until later in the day. I had to walk to the bottom of the hill to the main road, trudging through the snow, to meet Jonathan, who then drove me to Radford. Come to think of it, I'm sure I looked pretty funny walking through the snow with my purse and laptop bag! Here are a few pics of the snow :)

Wedding Countdown

Jonathan and I are only 53 days away from becoming a married couple! Our engagement has flown by so far, and I'm positive that the last two months will only go by faster. We've gotten alot accomplished for the actual wedding day, but of course, now is when stress begins to settle in. I feel as though I have marked thousands of items off my "wedding to-do list", but there are still so many things left unchecked. I know it will all come together and it will be the most wonderful day of our lives thus far.

This past weekend we had our first of three Couples Bridal Showers. Let me just say...wow. I can't get over the amount of people who attended and the amount of gifts we received. We are just so blessed to have amazing family and friends, and the outpouring of love was unbelievable! I'm so very excited to use all of the new things. Jonathan and I have decided to hold off on using our new gifts until we move into a house (hopefully this summer), so right now they are sitting in the middle of my apartment, waiting to be boxed up and put into storage for a couple of months. And if you know me well, you know that I cannot handle disorganization or clutter. So hopefully the gifts will be organized and boxed by the weekend, or I might have an anxiety attack :)

After the bridal shower on Saturday, 7 of my closest and most amazing friends hosted a bachelorette party. We had a blast! Maggie and Haley (my two amazing best friends) planned the event. We started off with a scavenger hunt which led us to our final destination - Ocean Beach Club Resort! We had an oceanfront suite, which was beautiful! We all had an amazing time, laughing and enjoying being together. I can't thank them enough for all the effort they put into hosting an amazing night!
So now the crunch time until the wedding has begun. 53 days and counting until I get to call Jonathan my husband :)
